Tape speed is a little too fast, but it's a nice tape. Must be one of the earliest Backspin tapes, right? I only have tapes of his from like 1994, 1995, 1996. I like it when tapes were simply named with the date they were made, which was the case with a lot of tapes from the early 90s. It allows to pinpoint the first time certain songs appeared. (Radio shows are good for that, also - except for songs that never were played on radio.)
That song by Azie Faison on side B of this Backspin is interesting. Azie was a gangster, but he was not a natural rapper. Still cool to see a song from his crew Mob Style, which was a rare occurrence, did not appear on many other tapes back then - at least none that I know of (maybe because their songs were not real hits, not really good). I wonder what the following song right after Azie's is, can't recognize the rapper. Clever how Backspin followed Deep Cover with a topic-related anti-police brutality song by Benzino's old crew, back when he was Ray Dog. Thanks for the tape, Grime, and the many you posted over the years! Keep going, especially tapes that have dates instead of names ;)
Backspin is dope. Tapekingz was pushing his tapes hard. I've only seen his tapes with a Tapekingz cover too. Thanks for this one.
